This one is for Ruth

RuthieK asked me if I would show a comparison between my self drafted 12 panel skirt, and the Marfy 12 panel. Well, the photo didn't come out too well, the tissue kind of blends into the carpet a bit, but it was worse on the dining table when I tried that and there was no room on the sewing room table, as it was full of stuff. The self draft is underneath and is the one with the triangular flare. Both pieces are the panel at center back. The straighter section above the flare is nicely curved on the Marfy to conform with a curvy figure. My self draft is much straighter. The flare starts in a slightly different place but the most obvious difference is in the angle of the flare and the hemline. The flare isn't too much larger really, if you consider the width of the self draft hem, but the curved hem must help the flippiness. It also makes it a pain to hem up level.

And also for Ruth, here is a picture of my latest acquisitions. Two Tee shirts which are NOT black, navy or grey. :) The lime colour goes wonderfully with my new navy wardrobe. Its not a colour I would have thought of ever wearing. However, inspired by your example, and faced with a large rack of various colour tees in a large store this morning, I thought it made a wonderful opportunity to try some new colours and held each against me, even if I had never worn such a colour before. I am so pleased with the lime tee in particular, and so surprised that the colour worked, that I have been going on about it all day. If it is warm enough, I will be wearing the tee to work on Monday with my navy flippy skirt and a plain navy cardigan.

The lavender tee is to go with my Chanel jacket and the pairing will be worn with black jeans at the weekend or black wide leg trousers for work.
