And finally tonight, the piece de resistance (well, maybe).... the mini wardrobe composite photograph showing the whole collectio
I think the most interesting thing about this photograph montage is the comparison between the blue linen skirt from my closet and the Marfy flippy skirt. The blue linen is self drafted, and was my flippy skirt pattern of choice for at least three years. I have three of these in the wardrobe currently. It is a twelve panel skirt, drafted to my measurements. But if you compare it to the Marfy 12 panel flippy skirt, the Marfy is just flippier at the hem and more fitted at the waist and hip, and of course it has a very wide waistband. When you compare the pattern pieces, the panels are narrower on the Marfy and the flippy section is at a different level, but the flippy bit itself is not really all that much wider. However, the flippy section on the Marfy is shorter from start to hem and crucially, the hem on each piece is curved much more than on my self drafted one. I drew the hem straight on that and I think it is this which makes the biggest difference to the look.
I think you can see which one I will be making next time I want a flippy skirt though, can't you?

Each piece is lovely in its own right. And yet also works so well with the other pieces.
I love how the tencel skirt and blouse look like a dress when put together, and the dummy has been beautifully accessorised.
