Mini Wardrobe Progress

The Tencel shirt is well on the way to completion. It needs the hem, buttons and button holes and then it will be finished. I’ve not got any suitable buttons on hand so will need to get something at the weekend.

I also need buttons for the silk blouse too. Even though I have two huge tins stuffed full of buttons, I still don’t have the right buttons. The silk blouse is cut out… it took all day Sunday just to do that. It has a huge pattern match, and being silk, its very narrow fabric. Even with a single layer layout I just could not get this out with a match on all the seams, but I will just have to hope it doesn’t show too badly. I am particularly concerned about the back seam, always a problem area for me as the seam is so horribly curved and oddly shaped.
I spent ages trying to avoid having that “headlights” effect with a rose in just the wrong place. I think I managed this, but I am horribly afraid that I managed to get a round paisley just exactly where a girl doesn’t need a round paisley to be. I won’t know until I get a it made up of course. Perhaps I will be lucky.

Of course, I don’t like to have too calm a life, so in addition to the Mini Wardrobe, I am planning to join RuthieK’s Wardrobe in a Week on Stitchers Guild and then after that, and immediately following these two wardrobe contests, I am considering entering the June Capsule competition on Stitchers Guild. I must be bonkers and it remains to be seen whether I can achieve all of this, especially given that the June contest would entail yet another new, untried pattern… a Marfy naturally, in keeping with this being the Year of the Marfy (and, as RuthieK pointed out the other day, because I appear to have got a Marfy addiction…. There are worse things to have an addiction to).

And on a different note, I do love shoes, the higher the heel, the better I like them. I don’t do flats and I rarely do mid heights… the only flats I have are walking boots and wellies. I tried on some shoes on Saturday, lovely shoes with the most amazingly super high, spindly heels with thick platform soles in gold. They were stunning. And comfortable…. And not expensive… but I didn’t buy them…. Because I was afraid I would do a Naomi Campbell and fall off them! I’ve never had that happen. I have NEVER fallen prey to a sensible attack in a shoe shop before. I need to visit more shoe shops to erase the trauma.

I think a paisley is less bad than a rose if it is going to fall on the bust point. Is it so bad for us smaller chested ladies to make the most of our assets?
Yes you ARE completely addicted to Marfy but they design for your style so embrace it and go for it. Plus if you have spent the money on the patterns already its criminal not to use them.
Doing the WiaW plus the JCC is not crazy, because I am going to do it too and I am of course completely sane!!!!!
