The Tencel shirt is finished and the silk shirt is done apart from the buttons, which hopefully I will get time to sew on tonight. I can't photograph the silk one yet as the camera batteries have run out.
The muslin for the skirt with the drapy hip panels is finished and fitted. I’ve cut the final skirt out this evening and that just needs the thread tracing and the interfacing tacking on and it will be ready to sew.
I still need to do the muslin for the 12 panel flippy skirt. To save time I am going to cut out the skirt pieces in the lining fabric, and tack it together to use as the muslin. Once its fitted and I’ve altered the pattern tissue, I will take the lining apart again and iron the pieces flat ready for the sewing stage which begins on Friday.
The two turtle necks shouldn’t take more than an evening to cut out, and they need no extra prep, so Thursday evening should be soon enough for that… which leaves three evenings to get the flippy skirt cut and fitted and deconstructed again.
And on Saturday, I went to York shopping and bought not one, but three pairs of shoes, none of which could be described as sensible (though one pair were low for me at 2.5 inches). I also saw a bag that I just have to have… next month. It is cream fabric with blue patent leather trim, and will go with one of the pairs of shoes which are creamy white with navy trim and red heels, and just put the finishing touch to my navy summer wardrobe.
