No more working for a week or two.... two in my case, and I am going on holiday to my favourite place in the world... my own sewing room. Today was my first day of freedom and I celebrated by going into town and purchasing all the notions required to keep me sewing for a week at least.
I started to get acquainted with my overlocker this week and so far am extremely impressed with her performance. I’ve completed two pairs of leggings this evening and there is a third pair awaiting coverstitching and elastic insertion. Also, I’ve got a top almost complete, that just needs the hems doing, plus a top and pair of PJ’s cut and waiting for construction. Hopefully I will get those done tomorrow then I can get on with the Wardrobe In a Week which I am hoping to participate in over on Stitchers Guild. This was the brainchild of RuthieK, and preparation week finished yesterday. This week is the sewing week. Of course, I’ve done no preparation beyond deciding on an overdress with tops to go under it. I am hoping I will have time tomorrow to cut out all the various items for that. I am planning a grey plaid overdress (McCalls 5464) with tops to go under it. The dress was inspired by Sharon’s beautifully finished version which can be seen on her blog: http://petiteandsewing.blogspot I’ve made the dress before but this time I will scoop the neckline out a bit (I made the higher necked version before) because I want to wear it with shirts as well as roll neck sweaters now that I have seen Sharon's version with a shirt under it. The tops will either be three knit tops or two knit tops and one shirt. The knit tops are self drafted and the blouse is McCalls 5138. I’ve also got quite a pile of other items waiting in the wings in the hopes of being able to get around to them as well.
The Marfy jacket is on hold for a week or so because I am hoping to enter it into the Pattern Review Lined Jacket contest. However, I got the buttons today and will start running interfacing tests and practice buttonholes in the next week or so.
Rather inconveniently, some of my leave will be taken up with sleeping which, along with eating and housework, really cut into my sewing time.

I've been leaving out the housework, but you can't really manage without the eating and sleeping!
Thank you for the comments on my tunic. I am looking forward to seeing what tops you put under yours as this is an area that is sadly lacking in my wardrobe.
