My latest pair of socks are completed and here they are. The pattern is by Kate Blackburn and is named Catherine. The pattern is available free on Ravelry and I think its a really good, and well written pattern. I could follow it relatively easily, even though this was my first attempt at making a sock that had an actual knitted pattern. Admittedly, I never managed to quite learn the pattern enough to make these a TV knitting project, but they weren't difficult to do, just required a bit more concentration to make sure I didn't go wrong with the pattern. As far as I can tell, I only went wrong on the pattern once, at the very start, because I acquired an extra stitch or two, but the pattern is very forgiving and I can't even find the mistake now. They fit well and are comfortable to wear so all in all they are a winner. Since the weather is miserable and cold here, I put them on as soon as I'd finished them. Wearing a successful project is distracting me from my sewing song published yesterday.
The muslin is going OK really, but the sleeves have a mysterious and stubborn wrinkle in the back of the sleeve which was resisting all attempts to eradicate it last night. However, this morning I looked at it with a fresh eye and suspect that when I redrew the sleeve cap to make it shorter I may have messed up the curve at the back and made the back of the sleeve too flat. I redrew the curve on the tissue this morning before work and will cut the new sleeve out tomorrow and see if that fixes the problem.

Oh the socks are so CUUTE.
You will have lovely warm feet this winter.
Nice socks! And there's TWO of them. I was starting to get the idea that no-one knitted them in pairs anymore. ;-)
Do you think I could adapt a sock pattern into legwarmers? (and no, it's not just fear of turning a heel, my feet are weird shoes are purchased to fit with the socks I own, so I'd never get to wear knitted ones)
Cheers,
AJ
PS your weather plan isn't working - could you cast on something for blizzard conditions next, see if you could get the sun out?
