Socks in a heatwave

Whew, its lovely and warm this week in the UK. I am loving the heat but such a lot of people have come into my office to complain about it being too hot that I am starting to think I must be the only one enjoying the sunshine and warmth. The sunshine has ripened the strawberries at the pick your own fruit farm down the road, so that will be where I will be going at the weekend. Love, love, love strawberries and will make some jam and syrup as well as freezing some. I guess jam making in this heat will be rather a hot and sticky activity but worth it. Home made strawberry jam in the depths of winter is just a little taste of summer heaven. Mmmmm.

And I am hoping to get a bit further on with my socks by the end of the weekend too. I'm rather pleased with the way my first ever patterned sock is coming out so far. So much so, that I took a photo of it. I thought I had better since I have to pick the sides of the heel up next and then try to make sure I don't mess the pattern up on the foot when I get my round all joined up together again. Hence the photo now, before that stage... maybe I will put in a lifeline... just in case, ya know? Sock yarn not being exactly substantial when it has to be pulled out.

meltin awa tae a greasy spot so ah um!

There you go another complaint about the hot weather.

We have wild strawberries out the back, truly wild, we didn't plant them!

Nice sock. I prefer Fetching - just one wee thumb to cope with! Did I tell you I've been knitting legwarmers? Self patterning Adriafil Knitcol. Not even a thumb to slow me down! And better yet, no pattern to count the rows(rounds) on either. Just K2, P2.... she shouts, running out the room ;-)

Cheers,
AJ

The rain has arrived, and your sock is lovely! I am so impressed at knitted socks - well handknitted anything to be honest.
