These are the test run of the tissue alterations for the trouser pattern that I used for the tweed pair. These are made in a black polyester with steel blue and ginger pinstripes. Because the fabric is polyester and has no give (at least I think that is why) these were a little snug in the front thigh and I had to let them out at the side seams so they didn't pull across the front when I walked. I don't like these quite as much as the tweed pair, mainly because the fabric wasn't particularly good quality and they don't drape as nicely as the tweed pair. However, they are exactly what my wardrobe needs; trousers that can be dumped into the washing machine.
These are a copy of the pair I made over Christmas, minus the back pockets which didn't look so good in this particular fabric so I left them off. However, I used the same buttons on the waistband and pockets.
I will wear these tomorrow to check they are comfortable and if they are, I will have a very good pattern for future trousers.

They have come out very well. There is a lot to be said for work trousers which go in the washing machine. I bet you will wear them a lot in the end.
