Oh yes. Over three months of work is complete. My jacket is done. I wimped out in the end and did machine buttonholes as my practice runs all came out looking like rodents had been at the fabric. I learned today (having sewn the buttonholes yesterday) that there is a chap in Leeds who does the hand worked buttonholes for people. So that will be what I will do when I make my coat later in the year I think.
I am so proud of this jacket and its super comfortable despite being so fitted. I've been taking pictures of it all afternoon for my SWAP entry, wearing it with all the other items, but these photos are just of the jacket, on Twiggy the Dressform, so you can see the full details. And a close up of the buttons which, if I am not mistaken, are Valentino! OK, so I'm a bit of a label queen.
Please try and overlook the stray mohair strands. I made my mohair cardigan up a day or so ago (post on its way) and despite hoovering the carpet, dressform, table, myself, the ironing board, and most of the house, the strands keep getting on things. It is going to be the kind of jacket that attracts stray hair and fluff like a magnet. Which is a bit of a shame since the Sewing Spaniel is mainly white.
Coming next: a picture of the back, since blogger doesn't appear to like me putting too many photos in one post.
