I did not wish to anger the Jeans God, so I have put off posting about this pattern until I had made more than one pair of jeans from this pattern, and had worn them for two or three days and put them through their paces to be sure they were comfortable. I've posted about jeans before only to find that the silly things don't fit as well as I had thought they did after they've been worn a few times and washed.
Perhaps I will still find that to be the case, once they've been through the wash more than once. The pattern is Jalie 2908 and it has had a lot of positive reviews, and deservedly so. It is well drafted, the details are very RTW, and best of all, I had to do only a small amount of alteration to these to get them to fit.
I took out a section from the back leg, to narrow it, and raised the body length a little, partly by adding to the top of the jeans, and partly by scooping out the crotch curve. I'm pretty pleased with these. The camera has made them look a bit more wrinkled than they actually are and I find that all jeans wrinkle that way on me sooner or later when I've worn them a while. There is no flare to the leg. I had to take it out on this pair, which was the first pair I made, as my fabric remnant was too narrow to get the flared section out. This pair is made from a very stretchy, quite lightweight, black denim which I think came from Emma One Sock but I am not entirely sure about that.

Absolutely gorgeous. Love the teal topstitching and button. They are fab with that jumper.
Love the contrast stitching colour!
