Update

Last Sunday I decided that I would keep a list of my intended projects for the week on here, and it would keep me on track to complete items... It didn't work well enough to make it worth doing on a regular basis, it didn't make me sew faster, and it didn't stop me getting distracted by a very good novel and other projects that weren't on the list. I think I have to just accept that where sewing is concerned, I just have a butterfly mentality... always fluttering about alighting on new and interesting things, always about to fly off in search of something else new and exciting. At least it makes life interesting. However, for the record:

I finished the short cosy jacket, as you can see from the photos. It didn't take very long to make actually. I'm not super happy with this particular example since I got a poor finish because I found the fabric very difficult to work with. I had trouble with the back neckline seam, couldn't come up with a suitable or effective hem finish and had to leave it raw, don't like the cuff bands in this particular fabric, and when it was done I found that it didn't drape well because the fabric has a tendency to stick to itself. However, the negative points are pretty much related to the fabric; the pattern itself is lovely and the cosy is wearable, if a little impractical for the climate here. I really do like the pattern and I like how it works on my figure. I am happy with the fit as well so at least I know that I definitely want to make the longer version. I would agree with reviewers on Pattern Review who found that the short version is not so versatile in terms of different looks, but nevertheless I did manage to pull off four looks. The photo of the cosy just worn loose and draped down didn't come out and my camera batteries are not feeling well enough for a second attempt.
The long cosy jacket is on hold because when I went to cut my slinky knit, it was not very wide, there wasn't enough fabric, and the fabric had an obvious right and wrong side making it unsuited to the pattern. Also, it had such a heavy drape, and the front is so long, I was sure I would end the day with a cosy that was dragging on the ground. So I need to find a nice bit of warm very light weight knit to make the long version.. and it might be a while before I can find such a thing.
I was going to make the cyclamen Pink knit top but decided not to do that yet as I don't really need the sweater currently. The knit dress is traced but not altered, the planned sock is completed and I've started a new knitted Christmas gift project.

Lovely shape and style on you even if the fabric was annoying.
