Marfy at last...

Well, almost.  I can't order the catalogue until after 15 January it seems, and not all of the details are up on the site.  However, the free patterns are up and I've promised myself that I can have the catalogue this year, and some patterns too.  I never got my patterns last year, in fact, I don't think I bought any patterns at all last year.

Anyway, here are the free patterns, though the photo came out a bit small.  Blogger seems to be having an issue with uploading photos from the computer, but it seems to be a known flaw.  I found a workaround, but don't want to upset it too much by quibbling over photo sizes.

Working from the left, floral jacket is a no, top is a possible though hard to tell all that much from the drawing.  Skirt is a "hmm, maybe".  Cape is fab but I'll be looking not making. The waistcoat is a possible though I already have a nice Marfy waistcoat so might not bother with a second unless it turns out to have some fabulous feature that I've overlooked.  The skirt looks to have interesting seaming and pockets so I'd want a closer look at that.  It looks like it would be a very practical skirt though so its almost certain I'll have a stab at that.  I can see this one in denim. twill or corduroy.  Love the green dress which appears to have pockets in the hip band.  I will probably attempt this one as part of my "finally make a dress that fits me" campaign.  This got somewhat derailed by other things but its still very much on my mind to do it.  I think if I compare it carefully to my dress block I might manage to get it to fit but if not, then it will be good practice in the art of using the block for comparison.  So looks like that one is a "yes". If the muslin fits, I think this one wants to be a black and white floral print with black bands.  I've seen the very fabric in my local store, and its a stretch cotton so a bit forgiving if I overfit (again).   The white top is fabulous and will have a stab at that too I think.  Finally, I love the pink dress but unless I suddenly gain a party lifestyle, I don't think it will get made.  Though I could make it as a nightdress.  I think I say that about one of the free dresses every year though, and I've not done it yet.

So roll on 15 January.

That sounds fantastic. I've always wanted to try a Marfy pattern, just because I find it difficult to be inspired by any of the big 4 patterns these days, but have ended up drafting my own patterns these days instead.

I didn't realise they did free patterns either.

Hmm.

Lovely! I admire your dedication to Marfy though I just don't have the vibe myself. Be interested to see a bit more about those patterns when you order and receive the catalogue. (Bibliophile, some of the patterns are free with the purchase of the catalogue, so not entirely free as such!)
