Here's the second SWAP jacket, all trimmed up and completely finished. I am very pleased with it. Its lovely and comfortable, so light to wear. The fabric is from Fabrix in Lancaster, a lovely pure wool and is slightly lighter in weight and stretchier in texture than the navy that I made the first jacket out of. The pattern is Marfy, the same as the navy one I did last month, and is my TNT pattern, fitted at tailoring classes a couple of years ago, minus the waist belt.
The trim I have described in detail so we don't need to go there again. But I must say I am pleased with how it looks on the jacket. I was a bit unsure whether it would come out looking obviously "home made" rather than "hand made", or would look very fluffy and wrong, but I think its come out quite like something that would come from Joules, Boden, or possibly even Ralph Lauren. Is it very arrogant of me to compare my little effort to Ralph Lauren? I suspect it is rather.
The trousers being worn with the jacket are the pin stripe wool/poly pair, and are another item for my SWAP. They are finished apart from the hems. Despite being a very dedicated collector of shoes, I find I haven't a suitable pair of shoes to wear with my new navy and wine wardrobe. This lack won't be able to be rectified for a few weeks, so I pinned the hems for the photos, and will hem them permanently when I know what shoes I will be wearing with them.
