Lovely new fabric

Better late than never, and a bit of a drive by posting really.  I got these two pieces of fabric two weeks ago at Abhakan in Preston but its taken me until now to find time to post them.  Both are some sort of poly wool knit quite similar to some I had last year.  And the two together cost me the princely sum of £11.36.  Not bad for two dresses, which is what these are going to become.  The burgundy is a deeper, richer shade than the photo shows.  Originally I planned to make polo neck tops (there's a huge surprise) but Style Arc had a new pattern pairing, and 25% off, and I indulged in the PDF version.  Its the Cleo dress and Cleo Tabard.  The dress is for knits and has optional darts and a optional long sleeves (mine are so going to have long sleeves), and a vee neck.  The tabard is longer than the dress, slit at the sides and the hem can be buttoned up onto the side seam to make a drapey part at the hem. So cute.  The tabard is for wovens.

The wearable muslin will almost certainly be in a red rib that I've had sat in the stash for ages, with a linen tabard, also red.  Or possibly a black semi sheer with red roses that has been waiting for its perfect pattern.  Then I am considering adding a polo neck to the dress pattern  (such a surprising thing for me to do... NOT!) and making at least one of the poly wools into the dress with a polo neck.  I have couple of jackets that will look fab with the burgundy, and a waterfall cardigan that will look great with the striped. The poly wool should be wash n wear with no ironing required so a super item for a winter wardrobe and likely to get loads of wear.

But first, I need to tackle the items that are ahead of the dresses in the (very long) queue.  First up the jeans that have been cut out and sat waiting for two weeks.  If no new jobs need applying for this weekend, the house stays tidy, nothing needs cleaning, mending, cooking or finding, and the rain continues so that I have an excuse not to work in the garden, I hope to get some work done on the jeans on Sunday.
