Ziggi is Finished

Finished the last stitch ten minutes ago so this is fresh off the production line so to speak.  Not being particularly skilled at bagging linings I sort of half bagged this one and finished it by hand.  And was very glad I did as I had to slightly fettle the back hem which was pulling slightly and causing a wrinkle.  All sorted out now though and the topstitching on the hem, which was the last step, has now been done.  I'm planning to wear the jacket to work tomorrow with a black sweater and black trousers.

I have to admit that the jacket is a little tight still.  I need a touch more reaching room at the back still, but that should be a reasonably easy alteration to make.  And possibly a little extra room in the sleeve, though I think that the sleeve binding might resolve itself if the back was slightly wider since the sleeve itself is plenty roomy.  Its wearable though.  I'm thinking it might be nice to make it again in a fabric with a slight stretch, perhaps boiled wool, stretch faux leather or a heavy wool knit of some kind, just to get that touch extra comfort in the back.  Apart from that, I'm pleased with the end result and am sure I'll wear it a lot.

And here it is on me instead of on Twiggy.  Apologies for the differences in colour.  The photo of the front is more accurate in terms of colour.  The sun went in between taking the first and second shots.
