Tussah Silk

Sewing has come to a halt because I've hurt my thumb somehow and sewing really aggravates it.  Since I draft left handed and my right hand stays fairly still, I can still spin so I've managed to complete a project I've been working on for a while.

This is 50 grammes of tussah silk which I have spun up for a friend.  The fibre came from Adelaide Walker and was surprisingly easy to spin, resulting in about 300 metres of sock weight pure silk so enough for a small shawl I would think, or socks for a child maybe.

The photos have been laid out in Canva, which I am trying to get to grips with.  This one only took me about 20 minutes to do, whereas my first attempt last night took an embarrassingly long time to create. Still, practice makes perfect I guess.
