I turned fluff into a sweater

The Zebra project has been completed.  My first wheel spun yarn can now be worn with pride.

In fact this sweater incorporates the natural fibre of four different sheep breeds because I kept running out of fibre and hadn't got the patience to wait until more of the same breed could be ordered and delivered, so enjoyable did I find the creation of the yarn.  Its quite thick yarn (in most places anyway) so it knit up quickly and I'm super pleased with it.  So much so that its going into my SWAP as one of two pre-made items that are allowed.

I know this is not the most perfect sweater ever created, or the smoothest spinning, but I am actually in love with the rustic look of it which surprised even me.   Its flaws might perhaps have looked less intentional if the fiber had been coloured rather than as the sheep grew it.  It smells delightfully sheepy, and is very, very warm.  I made it to wear with a vintage very dark brown leather mini skirt, thick tights and boots this winter or with jeans and my fur trimmed boots.    Its really getting cold in the UK now, and today its miserable and wet outside.  So the sweater is finished just in time to get lots of wear.

It was knit from Custom Knits top down raglan recipe, more or less on the fly (in fact its had three sleeves knitted as the first one was big enough to get three people's arms into and I had to do some serious unpicking (the yarn unpicked obediently without going fluffy or splitty as well).  And here is a close up showing just how rustic it is.
