The four corners are hand quilted, as are the Carolina Lily, applique lily and applique tulip heart toward the centre. The rest were all machine quilted, with varying levels of accuracy as my machine quilting ain't the best. All the blocks have a double row of machine quilting around them, again with varying levels of accuracy. However, this quilt is an everyday one, quilted mainly by machine to allow it to stand up to the dog's love of sleeping on the bed, and the frequent laundering that the quilt requires as a result.
And here is the back. Its not actually wrinkly but I had a bit of a job getting it laid flat with a dog capering about all over the quilt. There is a sandwich sat on the mantelpiece just out of shot and she refused to get off the quilt in case the sandwich leapt from the plate and she wasn't near enough to eat it before it hit the floor.
The corners and two center squares are quilted with a pale pink variegated hand quilting thread I found in the stash. The rest is quilted with King Tut Superior in colourway Egypsy Rose, a machine quilting thread that I got specially for the project. The third hand quilted square was done in the Egypsy Rose so that it matched the others as I only wanted the two centre squares to be in the pale shade.
