Here it is so far. The row in the foreground is the one that is not yet finished. I have a dilemma though. Due to the way I planned this (oblong not hexagonal) there will be areas on the row in the foreground that will be missing half a hexagon to make the edge reasonably straight. I have no idea how to knit a half hexagon and I gather from the notes on Ravelry, that better people than I have tried and failed. I came up with a cunning plan, which can be seen on the second hexagon from the right on the bottom foreground row: I knit a whole hexagon, folded it in half, and sewed it back on itself at the back to make a half hexagon. Except, it still pokes out a bit and I'm not sure if it will annoy me. If I don't insert these half hexs there will be quite a big gap which would look worse and annoy me more. So I am a bit torn as to whether to knit these on or not. And if I don't, how to fill in the gaps. Hence the comment about having three or five hexagons to finish the section as I might leave the rest of the half hexes until I can see how the edge will look without them, all the way along. . I am also toying with the idea of knitting on a narrow border all the way around the blanket once it is completely knitted. This would make it neater at the edges... But I think I should possibly go lie down in a darkened room until that impulse goes away.... :) It would take SUCH a long time to do and be Sooooo tedious.
I feel the need to cast on something new to do alongside the blanket so I'm planning a lace shawl for the May Monkey a Month challenge.

Could you cope with having an ueven edge of missing half hexagons?
