Isn't this a cute frog? I needed an explanatory picture for my tale of frogging woe and here he is. The frequent frogging (ripping out, as in rip it, rip it) of my latest knitting project has meant I've had little time to blog as I've been surrounded by unpicked lace weight yarn on a frequent basis.
The shawl has been completely ripped back three times and I had six cast on failures before I even got started as I kept messing that up too.
The problems were entirely my own fault... like failing to read the chart correctly and, even though multiple people, and the pattern notes, said the decrease went across the stitch markers, I still knit the entire row whilst congratulating myself on being the only person NOT to have to move my stitch markers to complete the decrease. Err, yes. Right. I finished the row, went to get a coffee, and didn't even make it as far as the kitchen before I had to go back and look at the chart and realised that I had failed to correctly knit the first two stitches so the entire row was wrong.
Anyway, I am now on row 15 and have a lifeline in. Its taken me two weeks to get this far. Each pattern row takes about an hour to knit as I am now obsessively counting the stitches in every repeat as soon as I've knit it.
I can't show progress because its a mystery knit along and I don't want to spoil the surprise. However, I can say that its a crescent shaped shawl, designed by Susannah IC and I am knitting it in Posh yarn in colourway "Drowning in Tears".

Oh the irony of the colourway!
Ouch!!
However, you are known for your Percy Verence. So I have every confidence in you.
And btw... I did spot the new Ravatar, please to turn up on BB and show it off!
I knew there was a reason to OT learn to knit!
