Socks Number 7

This is the seventh pair of socks in the eleven socks in 2011 personal challenge. I can knit one of these socks in an evening and found it very satisfying to have an actual finished item so quickly. Its not often that happens when I am knitting. It does almost seem like cheating to count such a quick project as one of the eleven items for the challenge though.

My best friend's younger daughter is expecting her first child and these are for the baby. I have no idea whether they are expecting a boy or a girl but hopefully this colour is sufficiently gender neutral to be OK for either. They are made from a pattern designed by Stephanie C Habermann and the pattern is merely entitled New Born Baby Socks. The pattern suggests using two circular needles but I got into a mess doing that and the socks were knit partly on the two circulars and partly on DPN's. They took a surprisingly small amount of yarn to complete. I am quite pleased with them, though they do seem terribly small. I think I will knit the next pair on larger needles which should give yield a slightly larger sock.

babies are also terribly small. mostly.

I'm making duck feet.

was quite relieved to read down and find they weren't for you.... cos if they were that was some size of envelope and stamp!
