Purple Sweater

This is the first really fitted item I've ever knitted and apart from a slight shortness of sleeve and a slight tightness of underarm (both of which I feel can be blocked out when the thing is washed each time since the lace needs to be blocked every time anyway) I am very pleased with it.

The pattern is Elphaba by Mary Annarella (available on Ravelry). The pattern is well written, easy to follow and uses not a great deal of yarn. I actually have a ball left over from the five I purchased. This will probably become stripy socks together with some yarn as yet to be determined.

The yarn is Knit Picks Stroll Sock which is merino with nylon. Its superwash so the sweater should be hard wearing and its very warm considering its weight.

It didn't take all that long to knit either, about four or five weeks during which I had only one other knitting project on the go, a blanket which I am not enamoured with and haven't done much to.

The eleven socks in 2011 has fallen somewhat by the wayside it has to be said, at least in the sense that I've not knit a pair this month at all. I still have time to complete the target by having a marathon sock knitting fit later in the year, which is of course quite possible, and even likely, once the weather cools. I lack the enthusiasm for sock knitting whilst the weather is warm.
