Sunset socks

I can't decide if these socks are red or orange, but they are certainly cheerful whichever they are.

The yarn is from YarnUndyed, 75% merino/25% nylon and I think it was dyed with Wiltons cake dye in shade Red Red.  It was one of my earliest yarn dying experiments and I'm pretty pleased with how it came out.

The pattern is Coriolis Effect Socks by Verybusymonkey.  The pattern looks reasonably complicated to achieve but as with many of this designer's patterns, is really simple to knit.  I'm not sure quite how long these took to knit as I forgot to raise the project page for them on Ravelry.  However, with all that has gone on this year, they've taken a bit longer to knit than would normally be the case and I would guess they've been on the go about two and a half months or so.

I cast on my next project yesterday, a simple ruffled scarf in some left over yarn that will work well, colourwise, with a couple of jackets I have in the cupboard.  I can't say that the project is exciting me all that much and I might keep it as a travel and TV knitting project because this morning I awoke with a strong desire to cast on the Coriolis Effect Shawl.  Several of the Verybusymonkey sock patterns have shawls that are constructed using the same stitch pattern and it would make sense to knit the shawl straight after the socks, whilst the pattern is in my head.
