Being poly, it doesn't tailor easily like wool. However, I do think that the dimpling you can see on the photo will come out once the sleeves go in, or at least will reduce sufficiently to be presentable. As usual, the camera makes it more wrinkly than it really is. Its actually come out quite well but was photographed in strong light so all the imperfections have shown up.
I am hoping to get this finished this week as I have some time off work this week and next. Its half term at College and I'm almost caught up with the work, so have decreed it possible to play for a bit. I shall be going into Leeds later in the week and hope to get some summer jacket fabric.
I did start a summer jacket in some gorgeous peacock coloured cotton gabardine last week.... however, the TNT pattern wasn't as TNT as I had thought. It was so far from being TNT that the whole entire jacket had to be thrown into the bin almost as soon as it had been cut out, thereby wasting a very lovely piece of fabric. The fabric was a remnant that was only just big enough for the jacket. I can't get more fabric. So that was, rather swiftly, the end of that. Yesterday was spent altering the tissue yet again and making a very quick and dirty muslin, which now appears correct.... at least until I find something else wrong with it. Seconds out, round two.

Oh so sorry to hear about the dust-bin-bound jacket. I find black the hardest to photograph and everthing looks worse in a photograph than IRL. So I think your new black jacket is going to be lovely.
What a pity about the TNT jacket, I've had the same issue with TNT pants/trousers. Hopefully you will find another lovely piece in Leeds. You have worked hard so enjoy your lovely break.
Sorry to hear about your favorite jacket! I know how that is and you really miss them when they're gone...thank goodness we know how to sew, right?! I love the style of this jacket and can't wait to see the completed version on you. I don't believe I saw the original.
So sorry for your loss. Its hard to let go of something so loved.
You must post pictures of your fabric shopping trip, i can only imagine!
RIP jacket the first and the lovely remnant :(
Hope jacket the 2nd will get as much wear! Glad you getting some time off for good behaviour.
Cheers,
AJ
